Case Study I — Sustainable Innovation in the Food Industry
The Berlin-based start-up BettaF!sh develops plant-based fish alternatives made from algae, providing a sustainable solution to combat overfishing in the oceans. With products like the tuna alternative “TU-NAH”, the company uses a resource-efficient raw material that binds CO2 and does not require agricultural land.
Through a comprehensive analysis of the value chain, BettaF!sh identified optimization potentials and implemented them. Our consultancy helped anchor the company’s sustainable approaches in its communication and positioned BettaF!sh as an innovative leader in the field of environmentally friendly food production.


Case Study II — Science for a Sustainable Future
The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) conducts research on global sustainability strategies and advises policymakers on climate-related issues. In 2020, we were commissioned to conceptually, technically, and communicatively redesign the institute’s website.
Our task: to make PIK, an internationally recognized institution and the go-to address for climate impact questions, more visible, while simultaneously creating a reliable information platform for policymakers and the public. In the UX process, we analyzed user needs and developed innovative science communication formats. This led to the creation of topic pages on research fields and the format “Numbers”, which illustrates scientific metrics and their significance.


Case Study III — Attracting Talent for Climate Jobs
With the Energiewende Challenges, we connect international students as highly qualified workers for the renewable energy job market with companies as future employers. Through an idea competition and targeted networking and learning formats, innovative solutions for the energy transition are developed.
The concept was created in collaboration with RENAC The Renewables Academy and HWR Berlin and was recognized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the 10,000 Days initiative. In addition to the overall concept developed with the partners, Novamondo is responsible for marketing and design of the event format.

Case Study IV — Design the Loop
Together with HWR Berlin, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, and corporate partners, we developed a Makeathon for sustainable solutions in the event and cultural sectors. After an introduction to the topic of circular economy by the Cradle to Cradle NGO, student teams developed innovative approaches for trade fair construction, theater operations, exhibitions, and large events.
Our visual concept reflected the idea of the loop: AI-powered animations dynamically changed and connected with the themes of the Makeathon
Publications
For over 20 years, we have been supporting companies in the areas of sustainability strategy and communication. We are particularly excited about our collaboration with Springer Gabler Verlag. In the publication “Through Brand Management and Innovation to Greater Sustainability in Companies” from the Sustainable Business series, our founders and managing directors, Bastian von Lehsten and Christian Schlimok, provide insights on how sustainable brand management and economic success can go hand in hand.
